In addition to basic information-such as name, location, promoting agency, major crops, and contacts-it will also function as a digital platform for accessing records on basic financials, shareholder structure, business activities, and overall growth indicators. The TCI Database for Indian FPOs is an attempt at aggregating data around different forms of FPOs and presenting a standardized distribution code for future data assimilation, assessment, and interpretation. Addressing the crucial gaps in our understanding of FPO promotion requires an open access code and a database of all the different types of FPOs in India. TCI believes that reliable data is a must for policy design and implementation. Hence, to support a congenial FPO ecosystem to address regulatory mechanisms or improve policy frameworks, there is a clear need for a unified platform for the collection, assessment, and dissemination of the FPO-promotion experience in India. ![]() The absence of a consolidated database and unified code has been a challenge continuously highlighted by development agencies and various other stakeholders engaged in designing and implementing FPO-targeted interventions.
